TEACHER WORKSHOPS

In response to the interest of special education teachers in Beyond I CAN we offer workshops which teach how we operate our program. These workshops are offered through the year as requested. They are taught by Nancy Barnett, founder, with the assistance of parents and several Beyond I CAN participants. Those taking the workshop have said, “I really like having the workers teaching the workshop.”

Incubating Program

Another service offered at the workshop is a unique way for teachers to “jump start” a similar program at their schools. We call it an incubating service where we offer cards in kits that need to be assembled. For a fee the card kit is purchased and students are given instructions on assembly. When the card is completed it is returned to the plastic sleeve and can be sold for twice the orginal price. This is an immediate way for classrooms to begin to make a profit without needing a die cutter and dies. As the class assembles the different card lines they can decide what are “best” sellers and take a longer time in deciding how best to spend their profits on die cutter and dies. This method is a win-win for both Beyond I CAN as they cut and assemble the kits and for the ones assembling the kits.
